Don’t Buy the Medium Partner Program Until You Create a Stripe Account First!

If you’re a writer eager to join the Medium Partner Program and start earning money from your content, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement. But before you pull out your credit card or commit to purchasing a Medium membership ( which costs $50 annually ) to apply for it’s Partner Program membership, there’s one crucial step that many overlook: setting up a Stripe account.

For those of you based in India, this is especially important to note. The Medium Partner Program relies on Stripe for payments to writers, and while Stripe is one of the most popular online payment systems globally, it has a significant limitation in India — Stripe doesn’t currently support India.
